Fini.

It's been almost a week now since Movember finished and I thought I'd polish off my journey with a little after thought.

To begin with, the Movember Gala last Friday was absolute mayhem. Present were smurfs, airline captains, strong men, Bay Watch superstars, Borat look-a-likes and a array of others. Brilliant.

The gig was a riot, the camaraderie amazing, the behaviour of fellow Mo-bro's and Mo-sista's polite and the music cheesy as a Kraft Single. In short it was the perfect end to a long aware month of Mo-growing.

I've had a little time to reflect on the whole experience. I achieved a few goals with the primary being raising awareness, raising funds and, of course, growing a Mo. But it's just so much more than getting a few hairs on your face. It was a team effort from all involved on a grand scale. It not only endows me with pride that I was part of it but it'll be a lasting memory to maintain my support and open up charity to other worthy causes. Hear hear to the Movember Company.

Having said all that I'm damn glad to be rid of the hairy cretin. Seriously, I looked like a bad South African porn star (as Craig so eloquently put it).

Will I do it next year? Maybe. I'd rather like to see a few other Mo-men jump on the bandwagon and offer my camaraderie, support and fundage. It's tough getting a bunch of people to believe in a cause that you feel so strongly about. That is a perfect segue for my thank you though.

Thank you to all of you who have ridiculed (no really, it was encouraging), supported, DONATED (!), and pushed me a long.

I'm well aware that a lot of you only did it to support me and were a little skeptical of where the cash was going and whether or not the sponsorship was really worth while but you came through in the end. A whopping contribution has been made with the final figures beyond what I anticipated.

There were a few folks who were cynics and non believers but in the final stages of punching through the hairy clouds (on my behalf) they saw the dedication and diligence applied and came through with the supportive words and cushy cash.

To next year. To the next charity. To the next challenge. To the next ridiculous task with the same voracity, courage and out right focus to do silly things which in turn end up being achievements.

It was a journey of good and without using any more superlatives, until next time, ciao.

Nice work, Russ. And there's nothing wrong with looking like a bad south african porn star (except if you're a PE teacher). Your fundraising efforts are intimidating!
